Project

Leggat McCall served as the project manager for the new Smith Campus Center, which included a facade restoration of a historically registered, 10-story, Josep Lluis Sert early Brutalist landmark as well as a multi-floor demolition, new low-rise structures and the renovation of an occupied building in the heart of Harvard Square. The project also included major mechanical and electrical upgrades with a new fire alarm system and Fire Command Center phased into existing and active building operations. Other building features include a new four-tiered multi-function atrium and a restored two-story arcade with seven food venues. Landscape, hardscape and roof are terraced to facilitate programs and events open to students, faculty, staff and the public. The project is targeting LEED Gold.
