Brigham and Women's Hospital | Thea and James M. Stoneman Centennial Park and the Brigham Patient Parking Garage

Boston, MA

Project

The project consists of a 4-level, 400 car underground parking garage with a landscaped park at grade adjacent to Brigham Circle. The new garage and park reestablished the Peter Bent Brigham building as a primary entrance into Brigham and Women's Hospital as originally conceived in 1913 while creating a new green space for the hospital and the surrounding neighborhood.

Brigham and Women's Hospital won the Boston Preservation Alliance's Preservation Achievement Award for their work on restoring the facades of these historic buildings as well as the original landscape and entrance to the hospital that had been paved over as the need for parking grew.
